IDC3O @ AHS, JUne 2017:
In Adult High School's IDC3O (Writings Foundations) class, students were asked for their first major assignment to write a sustained, descriptive paragraph that focuses on a particular colour of their choice. Throughout the course, students investigated and worked towards mastering a broad range of grammatical concepts in English. In this assignment, they were asked to focus on adjectives and adjective order, adverbs, various phrases and clauses that add detail, and comparatives and superlatives. In addition, students were asked to apply literacy devices learned primarily in their main English class, such as similes, metaphors, hyperbole, or personification. These students were largely taking the class concurrently with ESLEO.
